This Pasta Portoghese Sedanini Rigati is a classic short pasta shape, crafted in Tuscany from high-quality durum wheat using traditional Italian methods and bronze extrusion. The result is a gently ridged surface that holds sauces beautifully and delivers a firm, satisfying bite.
Sedanini rigati is similar to penne but slightly shorter, curved and cut straight rather then on an angel (as with penne). The name sedanini refers to its smaller size, more delicate than the larger sedani shape - making it particularly well suited to dishes where you want a more refined texture while still capturing plenty of sauce.
Designed to trap sauce both inside the tube and along the outside, it works especially well with tomato based sauces, creamy pasta dishes, or rich meat ragù. It’s also an excellent choice for baked pasta recipes, where its shape helps hold everything together.
