How to use:

  • Scatter raw kernels over porridge, yoghurt, salads, hummus and roasted vegetables for a quick nutty crunch.
  • For toasted seeds, dry-pan-toast 200g over a medium heat for 4-5 minutes, shaking the pan often, until golden and fragrant. Cool on a plate before storing.
  • Build a weekly granola: combine 300g rolled oats, 200g sunflower seeds, 100g chopped nuts, 4 tbsp honey and 3 tbsp oil, then bake at 160°C for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  • For homemade sunflower butter, roast 500g at 160°C for 10-12 minutes, then blitz in a food processor for 8-10 minutes with a pinch of sea salt until smooth and glossy.
