We are really proud to stock these beautiful Class A Free Range eggs from local artisan producer Rupert's Fancy Fowls.
These eggs taste superb and are laid by happy hens, living their best lives just 2 miles away from the Somerset Foodie warehouse in Rode. Rupert has a small mixed flock, hand-reared for him by specialist breeders with their foundations in heritage birds: White Leghorns, Columbian Blacktails, Rhode Rocks, Lohmann Browns and Speckledys. Rupert collects eggs twice a day by hand, seven days a week to guarantee 100% freshness.
Rupert is a passionate advocate of the local food movement. We love his beautiful eggs, his funky, colourful packaging and his grounded, positive philosophy on life. Give them a try!
We aim to process every order within 24hrs (Mon-Fri). Orders placed after 12pm will generally be processed the following day.
Once your order has been packed, standard delivery takes 48hrs once it leaves our warehouse, we do have an express option which is 24hrs and is recommended when ordering any chilled items.
We can mail order ambient and chilled ingredients to the whole of the UK, including all of The Scottish Highlands and Islands and Northern Ireland.
Unfortunately, we cannot mail order frozen items.
All shipments are tracked, we use a combination of The Royal Mail and DPD, tracking numbers are emailed to you for each order.
Our shipping rates depend on the weight of your order and start from £3.99 shipping rates are calculated at checkout.
All the packaging we use is compostable or just paper and cardboard that can easily
be disposed of in your kerbside recycling. (Chilled items are sent in temperature controlled pouches with ice packs
which are not compostible but can be reused).

It’s a pleasure to buy a locally produced tasty eggs, delivered curtesy of happy free range hens.
They do lay some very good eggs, perfect hard boiled, poached, scrambled or in an omelette

These radishes were crisp with a little fiery kick. Really nice in sandwiches or on the side of strong cheese or with Asian dishes
All the SF and ingredients are curated by Ben and Alice - don’t expect a choice of six different brands of sesame oil (say), expect the one Ben loves and that’s on the shelf in his own kitchen. So many of the items stocked have a story behind them. The recipes on the site are well worth a look - achievable recipes for a busy life that deliver big on flavour. My favourites are the different White Mausu sauces - give everything a good bit of zing, the Don Bicarte Anchovies and of course Tajin.
Nothing but praise for this service. Recipients of the gift boxes were over the moon - carefully curated and presented - a big win
This is a must try product. In the past I have never been a fan of aubergine but after trying this product at one of Somerset Foodie’s tasting events I’m hooked. I’m now on my 5th jar. Just follow Ben’s recipe and you’ll have a truly delicious and light snack. 5 stars all the way.
