Moong dal is a type of lentil that is commonly used in Indian and South Asian cuisine. It is made from hulled and split mung beans, which are yellow in colour and have a mild nutty flavour. There is no need to soak moong dal overnight, simply rinse under running water and simmer using the ratio 1 part lentil to 5 parts water.
Moong dal is a rich source of protein, fiber and vitamins and used regularly in soups, stews and curries and as a side dish.
Ingredients: Split mung beans without husk
