Originating from the Sichuan region of China, Chilli Bean Sauce (known as Toban Djan) is a pungent blend of salted chilli peppers, soybeans and broad beans. It's an essential ingredient for classic Chinese dishes such as Kung Pao Chicken but it's great to add a couple a tablespoons into any meat or vegetable stir fry.
Allergens: GLUTEN, SOY.
Ingredients: Salted chilli peppers 48% (chilli peppers 80%, salt), water, fermented soybean paste (water, salt, soybeans, wheat flour), fermented broad bean paste 9% (broad beans 50%, water, salt, wheat flour), sugar, modified corn starch, chilli pepper powder 1%, dehydrated garlic 1%, soybean oil, acid (lactic acid), flavour enhancers (disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate).
First time I’ve used this in my cooking albeit it’s called for in plenty of my recipes. Gave a gentle lift of heat to the dish without overpowering. Two teaspoons in a dish for four is all it took so this jar will make a fair few dishes. Great product and great taste.
