Our Light Amber Walnut Halves are a step above the standard supermarket bag - sourced for their colour grade as much as their flavour. Light amber is the designation given to the paler colour, freshest-tasting kernels, where the skin is thin and the bitterness that can make cheaper walnuts so difficult to love is kept firmly in check. What you get instead is a clean, buttery richness with just enough earthiness to make them interesting.
They work as well in the bowl as they do in the oven. Toast a handful in a dry pan for three or four minutes and scatter over a bitter leaf salad with blue cheese and a honey-mustard dressing, or fold through a bowl of porridge with sliced banana. In baking they bring real depth - a walnut and coffee loaf, a classic brownie studded through with chunks, or pressed into the top of a banana bread before it goes in the oven. They're also quietly excellent stirred through pasta with gorgonzola and wilted spinach.

Fabulous! All halves, hardly any bits, just what I need, thank you.
Fantastic walnuts, lots of intact halves. They plump up beautifully when I soak them for my Louisebees Brandy Soaked Walnuts in Honey!
Great size and taste. Fab packaging too.

Big old bag of seeds. They toast well and taste good.
This flour is noticeably different - it's got a slight yellow colour and a real nutty taste. Absolutely loving it for sourdough.
I've used them a couple of times in a mixed salad when rinsed. Nice and firm and perfect with a tasty dressing
Have been buying this rice for many years now. It’s easy to cook, albeit it takes a few minutes longer than white rice, but has a delicious nutty flavour. Would thoroughly recommend giving this a try.
If you like sourdough, the one that Ben and Alice supply at Somerset Foodie is the best one ever. We have tried many, many different sourdough suppliers and some are okay but this one surpasses all others hands down. It is yet another brilliant product which Somerset Foodie supplies. And the recipes on the website!
Sooo good!
Tasted gorgeous, but broken up so maybe better for pasta/chilli bolognaise sauce if you like tinned tomatoes whole. Juicy and tasty though
