Odawaraya Garlic Crunch Oil, Hot Jalapeno 110g

Odawaraya has been making food in Koriyama, Fukushima since 1933, when its founder opened a tsukudani and pickle business named after the Odawara shop where he'd learned his trade. The company still makes pickles, but it's now just as well known for its "eating oils": oils so full of crisp pieces that you eat them by the spoonful. The Hot Jalapeño is the liveliest of the Garlic Crunch range. It starts with the same golden fried garlic and onion as the Original, in a blend of rapeseed and olive oil, then adds green jalapeño for a bright, fresh heat.
Jalapeño gives a different kind of heat to the dried red chilli in most chilli crisps. It's greener and tangier, with a warmth that builds without overwhelming the garlic. That makes this oil work across cuisines. Spoon it over rice, ramen or fried eggs, or take it in a Mexican direction on tacos, quesadillas and nachos. It's also very good on pizza, avocado on toast and grilled chicken.

How to Use

Stir the jar well before each use. Start with a small spoonful and add more to taste. Spoon over rice, noodles, eggs, pizza, tacos or grilled meat. Mix into soured cream or mayonnaise for a quick spicy dip. Add at the end of cooking to keep the garlic crunchy.
