Hevva! is a small cannery at Norton Barton in Bude, North Cornwall, and one of very few places in the UK still canning fish and shellfish. Its name comes from the old Cornish cry raised when shoals were spotted off the coast. The aim is to put the best of Britain's own abundant waters into a tin, instead of sending it abroad to be processed. These mussels are rope-grown in Cornish waters, one of the most sustainable ways to farm shellfish. They are then hand prepared and canned in Bude.
The mussels are cooked, picked from their shells by hand and packed in rapeseed oil. That keeps them plump and tender, with a clean, sweet taste of the sea. Drain them and eat them on crackers with cream cheese and a few drops of hot sauce, or fold them into an omelette with chilli and garlic. They're also good stirred through a paella or a tomato pasta sauce at the last minute, or added to a seafood salad.
Ready to eat straight from the tin. Drain and serve cold on crackers, toast or salads. To serve hot, add them at the very end of cooking and just warm them through; longer cooking will toughen them.

Very impressed with the service provided by the Somerset Foodie- excellent communication, carefully wrapped goods, personal touch with a hand written note - a lovely feeling that you are dealing with real people 😊 who care!
Very delicious beans. Quick to cook after overnight soak.
Always speedy delivery, always perfect products, great prices, always tell all my friends about Somerset Foodie. Planning to visit soon. Great coms too Ben!
I bought this honey as I'd heard that consuming honey produced by bees local to where you live, I live in west Wiltshire, helps with pollen allergies. No idea if that's true, but this is beautifully tasting, quite unlike anything bought in a supermarket. Worth buying.
