6'' Red Plastic Tortilla Warmer

Our 6 Inch Red Plastic Tortilla Warmer is an insulated, lidded container that keeps homemade corn tortillas warm, soft and steaming from pan to table. In Mexico it's called a tortillero, and it's as much a part of the tortilla-making routine as the press or the pan. As each tortilla comes off the heat, it goes straight into the warmer, where steam from the stack finishes cooking it through. It's sized for 15cm tortillas, the standard size for corn tacos.

It makes the difference between tortillas that crack and tortillas that fold. Stack them in as you cook, and by the time the last one is done, the first ones will have relaxed into soft, flexible rounds that wrap around a filling without splitting. Put the warmer on the table for a taco night - charred chicken, slow-cooked pork, black beans with pickled red onion - and let everyone help themselves while the rest stay warm under the lid.

How to use:

• Put each tortilla straight into the warmer and replace the lid. When the batch is finished, leave them for 5-10 minutes before serving so the steam can finish the job
• For ready-made tortillas, warm each one in a dry pan for 20-30 seconds a side, then stack in the warmer
