Takara Sho Chiku Bai Sake, 750ml

As well as being one of the most famous drinks in Japan, Sake is also widely used as a cooking ingredient, just like the use of red or white wine in European cooking. It's made of rice and water and is made with a brewing process similar to that of beer making, although we have come to know it as rice wine.

Sake is often used hand in hand with Mirin, another type of rice wine - Sake has less sugar but a higher alcohol content and Mirin has lower alcohol and a higher sugar content.

Sake can be used in loads of different dishes; stir-fries, soups, broths, marinades, stews, when cooking Japanese rice.

Recipes that use this ingredient:

Karaage - Japanese Fried Chicken with Sweet Miso and Sesame Slaw

Roasted Root Vegetable Salad with Sweet Miso Dressing

Type: Asian
