Palm Sugar is made out of the nectar from a flowering coconut tree and is an essential ingredient in many Thai and South East Asian dishes. It has a mild butter scotch flavour, caramel flavour and used to balance flavours in savory dishes.
It is a key ingredient in many classic dishes from Pad Thai, Green Curry and Rendang but you could use it's more interesting and complex flavours in lots of cooking.
This tub has a thin layer of edible wax on the surface to prevent it from drying out, remember to remove that first.
