Grana Padano is often seen as the poor the cousin to Parmesan, but frankly, a well matured Grana Padano has loads of flavour and is good enough to appear on the best cheese boards.
The Grana Padano region is just north from the parmesan region in the Po Valley and is a larger area with less rigorous production regulations. Essentially though, they are made in very similar ways and therefore share the same characteristics.
We get hand cut pieces from Italy that will always vary in size, these pieces will always be a minimum of 200g, but they can be almost 300g.

this cheese is utterly delicious in risotto. It's not as strong as parmesan but far more flavoursome, you'll love it!!
