Exmoor Raw Ling Heather Honey - Louise Bees 340g

We are lucky enough to have Exmoor National Park in West Somerset. The bees spend about 4 weeks at the end of the summer foraging on the ling heather which flowers in August and September, much later than the bell heather. The result is this amazing, rich (and rare) honey made by Louise Bees and bottled in Rode. It tends to be thixotropic (jelly like) and doesn't easily crystallise.

Louise says: "It's very difficult to harvest and bottle but the end result is so bubbly and beautiful that it's worth the effort!

Our honey is only strained through a filter to remove any debris. This ensures that all the pollen, propolis and other goodies are all left behind for you to enjoy.

We don't pasteurise the honey as this kills the good bacteria and enzymes. It also means the honey will granulate over time. If you heat it gently the honey will become runny again."

Honey is not suitable for infants under 18 months.

Delicious honey that’s good for you!

This is a lovely sweet set honey with a deep caramel toffee colour and a pleasingly robust honey perfume. Slightly bubbly and grainy which gives a wonderful texture and luscious mouth feel! I got it because it’s raw and so contains all of its original goodness and should help with my annual hayfever sore throat, would recommend!
