Aleppo Pepper is widely used across the Middle East, Turkey and the Mediterranean. It provides a wonderful, slow-building warmth to dishes, with a fruity, raisin like flavour and hints of citrus. Aleppo pepper is named after the city in Syria and it's the most used spice in that country (behind salt and pepper).
Most famously used to season kebabs and grilled meats but you can add Aleppo pepper to just about any dish. It's also really worth sprinkling over eggs, on to avocado or scattering over pasta. An essential store cupboard ingredient that you'll be reaching for over and over.
